Job summary

Cygnet Kewstoke is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. You will assist in providing balanced, appetising meals, carry out basic food preparation, handle utensils, and help with stock ordering in a clean, safe kitchen at Cygnet Kewstoke.

You will be an enthusiastic team player with good communication, able to work on your own initiative under supervision, and committed to high standards of cleanliness. Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, preferably in a care setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks and other kitchen duties
• Wash utensils and store them appropriately
• Sort, store and distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic
• Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment in line with procedures
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Kewstoke.

Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke provides emergency admissions services for men and women, and a pathway for women to rehabilitation including a specialist service for personality disorder.

Your Day-to-Day…

Salary: £13 per hour +12.1% annual leave

• Assist the team in the providing balanced, appetising meals
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
