Job summary

Cygnet Group is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for Cygnet Wast Hills. You will work 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota, with 4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, preparing and serving meals and maintaining hygiene in a supportive care setting.

You will be an integral part of a team providing person-centred support, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to a welcoming dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, preferably in a care setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to high hygiene standards in a kitchen.
• Willing to work as part of a 7-day rota and 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals to residents.
• Wash utensils and ensure proper storage after use.
• Sort, store and distribute ingredients; assist with stock checks.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely in line with COSHH regulations.

Cygnet Group are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Wast Hills.

Working 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota (4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm), you'll help prepare and serve meals, maintain high hygiene standards and contribute to a welcoming environment for the people we support.

Cygnet Wast Hills provides dedicated, person-centred support to men with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs in a robust environment.

The service has a number of independent and communal living spaces for the individuals we support, to maximise opportunities to progress through their care pathway towards greater independence.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals
  Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
  Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
