Job summary

Penrose Court Care Home in Biggleswade is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen. This hands-on role works with the Chef and team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will assist with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and help with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. The role offers a consistent routine and opportunities to develop within a supportive kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Situated in the residential area of Kings Reach in the market town of Biggleswade, our private, luxury care home offers several types of care for up to 65 residents.

• £12.71 per hour
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
