Job summary

Barty House Care Home in Bearsted, Kent, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen.

You will help with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, assist with deliveries and stock, and work closely with the Chef and team to keep the kitchen running smoothly and to a high standard. The role offers a consistent routine and an opportunity to develop your experience.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach
• Good organisation and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential

Overview

Barty House Nursing Home is set in an impressive Georgian building in Bearsted, Kent, combining historic charm with modern facilities. The home provides high-quality nursing care for up to 59 residents in bright, ensuite rooms, many with garden access and countryside views, all delivered with empathy, compassion and dignity.

Responsibilities

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard. You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times. This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
