Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our Residents with nutritious meals in dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You’ll assist with meal prep, serve meals with warmth, and help keep the kitchen clean and safe.

You’ll need basic kitchen experience, an NVQ2 in Catering or willingness to work towards it, and a patient, respectful approach. The role offers safeguarding training, development opportunities, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation (or willingness to work towards it).
• Kitchen experience and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Patience, respect and kindness when interacting with Residents and colleagues.
• Safeguarding training as part of role and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
