Job summary

HC-One is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to cover kitchen and housekeeping duties in our dementia care environment. You’ll prepare and serve nutritious meals with kindness, while following recipes and maintaining hygiene standards.

We value candidates with some kitchen experience and a willingness to work towards an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation. We expect strong organisation, attention to detail and genuine respect for residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience and a willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering/Food Preparation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately; interact with Residents with patience and kindness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction.
• Serve meals promptly and with warmth and respect.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and clean surfaces and equipment.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Show new team members safe use of kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
