Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant on a bank contract to join our Dementia, Nursing and Residential care homes. You’ll help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene, monitor storage temperatures, and support staff with a can-do, kind approach for Residents.

We value patience, respect and the ability to follow recipes; NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or a willingness to work towards it is preferred. DBS/PVG enhanced checks and training are provided.

Qualifications

• Able to follow recipes and record information accurately

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef or Cook
• Serve meals with warmth and respect
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
• Supervise or train new team members on equipment use
• Wash up and keep kitchen spotless after busy periods
