Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a committed Key Stage 1 Teacher for a mixed Reception and KS1 class in a friendly primary school in Kettering, Northamptonshire, starting September 2026.

This full-time, permanent position requires QTS or equivalent and offers a salary aligned with the Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale. You will plan engaging lessons, adapt to developmental stages, and collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching in Reception or Key Stage 1 is desirable but not essential.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a mixed Reception and Key Stage 1 class.
• Adapt teaching and resources to meet the different developmental stages and learning needs of pupils.
• Create a stimulating classroom environment where children feel confident, supported, and motivated to learn.
• Develop children's early reading, writing, phonics, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future teaching.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and personal development.
• Encourage independence, curiosity, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support pupil progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and its community.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Confident adapting lessons for pupils at different stages of development
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills

• Adaptable, reflective, and committed to professional development
