Job summary

Supply Desk is assisting a welcoming primary school in Windsor to appoint a passionate KS1 Teacher. This role offers an opportunity to deliver engaging lessons within a collaborative school community and to support pupils’ early educational foundations.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver differentiated lessons across literacy, numeracy and phonics, monitor progress, and work closely with teaching assistants.

Qualifications

  • QTS is desirable and KS1 teaching experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of KS1 curriculum and phonics.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
  • Engaging, adaptable, and nurturing teaching style.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated KS1 lessons aligned to the national curriculum.
  • Support reading, writing, phonics and maths progress.
  • Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
  • Assess pupil progress and inform targeted support.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff.

Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Windsor to appoint a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative school community and play a key role in developing pupils’ early educational foundations.

This role would suit an enthusiastic and nurturing teacher with a strong understanding of Key Stage 1, who is committed to helping pupils build confidence and achieve success in their early years of primary education.

The Role

As a KS1 Teacher, you will support young learners as they develop core skills in literacy, numeracy, and social development. You will deliver engaging lessons and foster a love of learning within a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
  • Support pupils’ progress in reading, writing, phonics, and maths
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions
  • Support children with a range of abilities, including those with SEN
  • Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics teaching
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Engaging, adaptable, and nurturing teaching style
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
  • Experience teaching Year 1 or Year 2
  • Knowledge of phonics schemes (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
  • Experience using assessment data to support pupil progress
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Commitment to inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning
