Job summary

Select Recruitment Specialists Ltd is partnering with a well-established independent B2B business in the United Kingdom to recruit a motivated trainee into its sales team. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, understand their needs, and translate that into accurate quotes quickly.

The role offers full training, a clear path to develop your sales career, and a permanent, office-based role in a modern, state-of-the-art office with on-site parking.

Qualifications

• A technical or science degree, or equivalent analytical experience.
• Analytical mind with curiosity about how things work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Team player who follows set processes and is open to training and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Handle enquiries by phone and email, asking the right questions and gathering technical details.
• Quote: work with suppliers on pricing/lead times, size instruments using supplier tools, build quotations in HubSpot and Sage, usually within two hours.
• Follow up: chase quotes, answer questions, handle re-quotes and convert opportunities into orders.
• Outbound calling: contact existing customers and warm contacts to uncover upcoming needs.
• Present: run virtual presentations and product conversations with B2B customers.
• Work with directors: flag potential projects and collaborate on bigger opportunities and OEM accounts.
• Keep on top of admin: log activity and pipeline in HubSpot and check order acknowledgements for accuracy.
