Job summary

Mitie Power & Grid – Major Projects in the UK is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Junior Quantity Surveyor to support commercial management on large-scale infrastructure programmes. This hybrid role offers exposure to NEC/JCT/FIDIC contracts, cost reporting, and collaboration with project teams.

You will develop under mentors, gain experience across cost control, procurement, and governance, with clear progression into Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Management roles within a thriving

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in pursuing Quantity Surveying or commercial management.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Full UK driving licence or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial management of major infrastructure projects in the UK.
• Assist with project cost reports, forecasts and budgets.
• Help prepare CVRs and cash flow forecasts.
• Support contract administration and subcontractor management.
• Contribute to commercial governance and reporting.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and site teams.
