Job summary

Mitie Power & Grid is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Major Projects team and develop a career in commercial management across UK infrastructure.

You will work in a hybrid model on UK-wide projects, gaining hands-on experience in cost management, contract administration and commercial reporting under experienced mentors. This role offers clear progression toward Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor positions.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem–solving abilities
• Good communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Full UK Driving Licence or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Support commercial management of UK infrastructure projects
• Assist with cost reporting, forecasts and budgets
• Assist in contract administration and change control (NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
• Help manage subcontractor procurement and interim applications
• Maintain project documentation and commercial governance
