Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects in a hybrid UK setting. You will oversee cost planning, procurement, and contract administration from pre-construction to final account.

The role requires NEC4 expertise, especially Option E, with responsibility for mentoring junior staff and delivering robust cost controls, forecasting, and value engineering across

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial input across pre-construction, tenders and bids.
• Develop cost plans, estimates, budgets and commercial strategies.
• Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation and administration.
• Lead cost forecasting, CVRs, valuations and monthly reporting.
• Manage NEC4 compensation events, variations and change control.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support value engineering and procurement strategies.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior and intermediate QSs.
• Support commercial negotiations and dispute avoidance.
• Ensure strong commercial governance and contractual compliance.
