Job summary

Mitie Power & Grid is seeking a passionate Quantity Surveyor to join our Major Projects team and help deliver high‑value UK infrastructure. You will work with Project Managers, Engineers and supply chain to manage costs, contracts and change control in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

This role offers exposure to HV substations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), grid connections and civil works, with opportunities to progress into Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Management roles

Qualifications

Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar in construction, engineering, utilities or energy sectors.
Strong commercial awareness and cost management principles.
Experience supporting subcontractor management and procurement activities.
Knowledge of NEC, JCT, FIDIC or similar contracts.
Experience in infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy or civil projects.
Knowledge of HV electrical infrastructure, substations or BESS is desirable.

Responsibilities

Support commercial management of major infrastructure projects and work packages.
Prepare and update cost reports, forecasts and cost plans.
Assist in CVRs and cash flow forecasts.
Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
Support final accounts and client applications for payment.
