Job summary

Amey in Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Building Services Engineer – Electrical to support the delivery of electrical design across diverse projects. You will assist with calculations, drawings and technical documentation for quality, cost and schedule goals.

You will work under experienced engineers, gaining exposure to Defence, Education, Transport and Rail sectors while pursuing professional development and chartership. The role offers a structured career path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services engineering.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical building services and design processes.
• Awareness of CDM Regulations, health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing electrical building services designs per client requirements.
• Support electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Assist with design and coordination of electrical systems (power, lighting, alarms).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.
• Support engineers in delivering practical technical solutions.
• Assist scheme deliverables while meeting quality, time and budget targets.
• Participate in site visits, surveys and inspections.
• Assist in identifying and managing project risks and hazards.
• Help ensure compliance with health, safety and CDM requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers during delivery.
