Job summary

Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic IT Junior Support to join the IT Services team. You will provide first and second line support, helping users access technology systems across the College.

This role involves maintenance, installation and repair of IT equipment, deploying hardware and software, and contributing to IT projects while supporting onboarding for new staff. A proactive IT mindset and customer-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• 1st line IT support experience or equivalent is required.
• Experience with Windows server-based environments and Microsoft technologies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Willingness to work with children, young people and vulnerable adults and uphold safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support via Service Desk, telephone, email and face-to-face.
• Assist with maintenance, installation and repair of IT equipment and support hardware/software deployment.
• Contribute to a secure and efficient IT environment and help deliver IT services across the College.
• Support onboarding activities for new staff and manage IT assets/inventory.
• Participate in IT projects and collaborate with colleagues to improve IT services.
