Job summary

IO in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing technical support team and help ensure reliable, secure cloud operations. You will provide 1st and 2nd line cloud support, troubleshoot infrastructure issues and act as an escalation point for complex incidents.

You will work across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and GCP, covering compute, storage, networking and identity services.

Qualifications

Experience in technical support, infrastructure or cloud environments.
Exposure to AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
Understanding of compute, storage, networking and identity in cloud infra.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Experience with incidents, service requests and escalations.
Clear communication of technical issues.
Proactive monitoring and continuous learning mindset.
Good documentation and attention to detail.
Willingness to pursue relevant cloud certifications.

Responsibilities

Provide 1st and 2nd line support for cloud incidents.
Diagnose and resolve cloud infra issues.
Log, categorise and prioritise incidents.
Troubleshoot VMs, storage, networking and identity across AWS/Azure/GCP.
Monitor cloud environments and respond to performance issues.
Use monitoring platforms such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor or GCP Operations Suite.
Escalate complex issues with documentation.
Work with support teams and engineers to resolve high-priority incidents within SLA.
Create and maintain knowledge base articles and SOPs.
Liaise with cloud providers and vendors.
Contribute to continuous improvement across cloud support ops.
Stay current with cloud tech and security standards.
Participate in training and certifications.
Participate in out-of-hours rotation when required.
