Job description
JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Category Manager will be a trusted category advisor with our customers, providing them with insights and recommendations to drive their Category growth and deliver on joint business plan targets. The successful candidate will be focussed on Asda, Morrisons and Booker.

This role is ideal for someone with 2 years previous FMCG category management experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be seen internally & externally as the expert on the Category, the Shopper and the Consumer.
  • Establish collaborative customer relationships built on trust and objectivity to influence Category initiatives in the short, medium and long term. Engaging and influencing a broad range of contacts within the customer.
  • Are confident using a variety of data sources (retailer data, continuous data providers and broader market intelligence), to interpret the data and then simplify into compelling insights and strategies to grow sales.
  • Responsible for owning, developing, and leading the strategic category agenda with your designated customers to grow both Retailer and St Pierre Groupe sales.
  • Manage product portfolios within each customer, highlighting risks and opportunities, delivering on range priorities, increasing distribution, securing NPD listings and enhancing on fixture presence (space & location).
  • Work collaboratively with internal customer account managers to ensure joint business targets are agreed and met.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • 2 years previous FMCG category management experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively with UK Retailers
  • Understanding of the retail environment/marketplace.
  • Understanding of the principles and tools of category management.
  • Adept at using data platforms such as Circana, Nielsen, Kantar WPO and Retailer own databases.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Ability to manipulate data & extract key actionable insights into presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • People management skills.
  • Commercially savvy.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Analytical and investigative data skills.
