Job summary

Equans Group is seeking a Junior Business Development Manager for its Energy Solutions division in the UK. The role focuses on developing customer relationships across public and private sectors, supporting energy projects from pre-tender through EPC, and coordinating multidisciplinary bid teams.

You will engage with clients, craft compelling proposals, and help shape project scoping and governance while collaborating with legal and commercial colleagues.

Qualifications

• STEM degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in business development or solution management in energy, engineering, or sustainability sectors.
• Experience building and maintaining customer relationships.
• Comfort managing internal project teams and governance processes.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive engagement.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary bid teams and coordinating pre-construction activities.
• Experience with Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Find and manage customer relationships across private/public sectors for energy solutions.
• Engage with clients at pre-tender stage to support project scoping.
• Lead bid management, coordinate inputs, ensure governance.
• Produce external project materials and high-quality proposals.
• Own relationships through EPC contract signature and pre-construction management.
• Support negotiation of PCSA and EPC contracts with legal/commercial teams.
• Govern internal governance by aligning projects with golden rules.
• Develop marketing collateral and thought leadership content.
• Build relationships with trade associations and partners.
