Job summary

Greater Giving, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer - Java to join our Cambridge-based delivery teams and contribute to one of the world's leading payments platforms powered by Worldpay.

You will design, implement and test features for a high-volume ecommerce gateway, collaborating with product, QA and operations to ensure secure, scalable delivery. You will work with Java and SQL skills, align with security practices, and participate in deployment and release activities, with occasional

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Java and SQL (PL/SQL desirable).
• Track record of designing and delivering solutions to complex problems.
• Experience applying secure software development practices.
• Experience with distributed systems technologies (e.g. IAM, PKI, observability, containerisation).
• Experience working in Linux-based development and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Join a cross-functional team with developers, testers, a product owner and a scrum master.
• Develop changes in Java, SQL and PL/SQL for a Worldpay-operated payments gateway.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to specify detailed behaviours and review payments industry documents.
• Review specifications and translate into WorldPay technologies and lifecycle processes.
• Partner with test engineers to scope test coverage and write automated tests.
• Support deployment of new capabilities to production and deliver value to customers.
• Participate in release support rotas, including occasional out-of-hours.
