Job summary

Worldpay in Cambridge is seeking a Software Engineer - Java to join our cross-functional team responsible for a high-volume ecommerce payments gateway. You will design, implement, test, and deploy Java/SQL features while aligning with payments industry standards and security requirements.

Collaborate with product owners and testers to ensure reliable, scalable solutions and participate in production deployments and occasional out-of-hours release support.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Java and SQL (PL/SQL desirable).
• Track record delivering solutions to complex business problems.
• Experience applying secure software development practices.
• Experience with distributed systems technologies.
• Experience working in Linux-based development and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Join a cross-functional team and work on features for an ecommerce payments gateway.
• Develop changes in Java and SQL to the payments gateway.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to specify behaviours for new capabilities.
• Review payments industry specs and align them with Worldpay technologies.
• Support testing with automated component, integration and system tests.
• Assist in deploying capabilities to production and participate in release support.
