Job summary

Worldpay, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Development team to shape the future of global commerce. You will design and develop Java-based distributed applications for a high-capacity payments gateway in a Linux environment, ensuring reliability and scalability.

You will collaborate with UK and US engineers, write specifications, apply architectural standards, and contribute to code reviews and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Design and build secure, clean, and testable Java-based distributed applications in a Linux environment.
• Relational database concepts (Oracle) and knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience with large code bases and version control (Git).
• Experience delivering software to solve complex business problems.
• Interest in payments industry and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions in Java, SQL, and PLSQL for a high-capacity payments gateway.
• Write product specifications and translate business value into engineering artifacts.
• Apply architectural and software engineering principles, code quality, agile practices, and debt control.
• Collaborate with software/QA engineers through code reviews and mentoring.
• Work with UK and US engineers to improve team practices and retrospectives.
• Provide on-call support for release, deployment, and incident response outside office hours.
• Participate in SDLC with designers, release teams, support, and stakeholders to refine, release, and run software solutions.
