Job summary

Worldpay Cambridge is seeking a Software Engineer - Java to join our growing tech team. You’ll develop payments gateway components, collaborate in SAFe framework, and contribute to robust, scalable systems handling high transaction volumes.

You’ll work with Java, SQL, PL/SQL, Linux, and large databases, participate in design reviews, and help automate tests and deployments. This role emphasizes quality, reliability, and strong problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Join a cross-functional team in quarterly SAFe planning and design sessions.
• Develop changes in Java, SQL, and PL/SQL for the payments gateway.
• Review code as an authorized gating reviewer and ensure quality delivery.
• Collaborate with test engineers to scope test coverage and automate tests as needed.
• Design rollout and monitoring strategies for new features and deployments.
• Provide occasional support outside normal hours for release deployments.
