Matrix Academy Trust is seeking an IT Technician to support staff and students across its Walsall and Wolverhampton hub schools. You’ll resolve desktop issues, upgrade systems and ensure reliable IT services in classrooms and on servers. Based primarily at Smestow Academy with travel to other sites as needed.

We’re looking for a proactive IT Technician to provide high-quality technical support across our Trust, helping both staff and students work more efficiently. If you thrive on variety, enjoy helping others, and have strong technical skills, we’d love to hear from you.
As part of our central IT support team, you’ll be the go-to person for resolving desktop issues, managing upgrades, and keeping our IT systems running smoothly. From assisting in classrooms to maintaining servers, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our technology empowers learning every day.
The successful candidate will provide support across our Walsall and Wolverhampton Schools including Smestow Academy, Pool Hayes Primary School, Elmwood School and Bloxwich Primary School.
Your main base will be Smestow Academy. You will be entitled to claim travel expenses for any additional mileage incurred when travelling to other schools, compared with your normal journey to Smestow Academy.
The specific days and locations may vary depending on the IT support requirements of the individual schools and the availability of their Headteachers. The successful candidate will therefore need to demonstrate a flexible approach to their working pattern and be comfortable working across multiple school sites, including being able to reliably travel across sites.
