Job summary

York-based IT Systems & Support Engineer role with a leading legal firm. You will provide 2nd line support, onboard new staff, and train teams while improving workflows across multiple offices. Travel to regional offices is expected.

Ideal candidates have hands-on IT experience, strong Microsoft 365/Windows knowledge, and excellent communication skills; a UK driving licence is required for inter-office travel.

Qualifications

• Previous IT support or systems engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and core business applications.
• Confident communicator who can train, explain, and simplify technical processes.
• An analytical approach to identifying workflow inefficiencies and improving them.
• Full UK driving licence (travel to other offices required).

Responsibilities

• Deliver 2nd line technical support to staff across multiple offices.
• Manage IT onboarding for new starters, setting up accounts, devices, and software.
• Deliver IT training sessions (1:1 and group) to improve confidence and efficiency.
• Identify and implement process improvements in workflows and systems.
• Support and maintain the firm’s network, applications, and security.
• Act as a friendly, approachable IT partner to teams across the business.
