Job summary

Jago Consultants is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join a small IT team providing support, maintenance and development of the organisation's diverse IT systems across the UK. You will resolve issues, support users and collaborate with departments to improve system efficiency.

The role involves managing servers, switches and firewalls, performing planned maintenance, and contributing to cyber security initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge across IT systems and infrastructure.
• HNC or IT degree or equivalent experience.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills with problem solving.
• Effective communication and collaboration across departments.
• Active Directory and Group Policy – desirable.
• Hyper‑V/VMware – desirable.
• Experience in Alarm Receiving Centre industry – desirable.
• BS7858 vetting including police check, financial check and 5‑year work history.
• Full UK driving license and access to a car.
• On‑call nights and weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance, including customers and installers.
• Install and configure computer systems and hardware.
• Provide ongoing support across the business infrastructure, Servers, Switches and Firewalls to ensure uptime.
• Collaborate with departments to drive system efficiency and improvements.
• Plan maintenance and upgrades with IT lead and schedule tasks.
• Create and manage user accounts across applications and assist with login issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across all business areas.
• Maintain and manage software and hardware assets.
• Undertake technical projects for system improvements.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by Management.
