Job summary

Beechwood Park School in Hertfordshire is seeking an IT Support Technician Apprentice to join the IT team. You will handle frontline queries, install and maintain hardware, and support teachers and pupils with IT resources across the school.

The role offers 40-hour weeks, on-site work, and the chance to gain hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and school systems like iSAMS. Training is provided through QA Apprenticeships, with opportunities to develop networking, AV setup,

Qualifications

• GCSEs incl. Maths and English at 3+ (D or above).
• 3 GCSEs 4+ in any subjects; no higher level qualification at the same level.
• Willingness to learn and progress in IT role.

Responsibilities

• Handle frontline IT queries via email, helpdesk and phone.
• Maintain ticket logs and communicate status to users.
• Install and maintain hardware and AV equipment.
• Support expansion of network infrastructure (switches, cabling, wifi).
• Prepare IT materials for teaching and support pupils and staff.
• Provide high-quality user support and training.
