Job summary

MTrec Ltd Technical is seeking an IT Support Technician to deliver effective IT support across the business and assist managers on IT projects. You'll run day-to-day IT operations and help keep systems reliable.

The role covers incident handling, hardware/software troubleshooting, system maintenance, backups, onboarding/offboarding, and coordinating with suppliers while supporting colleagues in a dynamic, growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous similar IT role experience.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing industry beneficial.
• Excellent decision making and attention to detail.
• Positive, proactive approach to problem solving.
• Flexible in an ever changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Resolve and escalate IT incidents and change requests.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the network.
• Perform regular system maintenance and updates.
• Daily checks and maintenance such as backups.
• Assist with new starters/leavers and desk moves (PCs/phones).
• Raise external support calls with key suppliers when required.
• Complete IT projects set by management and assist other departments where IT presence is required.

Our client is a market leader in their field; due to growth they are now looking to recruit and IT Support Technician to work on a full-time permanent basis.

The Role

• You will deliver effective IT support across all aspects of the business and will provide back up and support to managers on a wide range of IT related projects.
• The person will be responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day IT operations, duties will include:
  • Resolve and escalates IT incidents and change requests.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the network.
  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates.
  • Daily checks and maintenance procedures such as ensuring backups have been completed.
  • Assist with new starters/leavers and support desk moves such as PCs and phones.
  • Raise external support calls with key suppliers when required.
  • Complete IT projects set by management and assist other departments where an IT presence is required.

The Person

• Previous similar experience in an IT role.
• Demonstratable experience in the engineering/manufacturing industry would be beneficial.
• Excellent decision making and attention to detail skills.
• Positive, proactive and dynamic look for solutions to problems and ways to improve.
• Remain flexible in an ever-changing environment.
