Job summary

KHR - Recruitment Specialists in West Malling seeks an IT Support Engineer (Help Desk) for a hands-on, 2-3 month temporary contract. The role covers first and second line support, hardware and software troubleshooting, and remote assistance.

You'll work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a day shift between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Competitive hourly rate £25-£30 depending on experience; immediate start.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an IT Support, Service Desk, or Help Desk role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft 365.
• Experience supporting PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across hardware and software.
• Familiarity with Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams, and Intune is highly desirable.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP and basic server environments.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently or in a team.
• Hands-on hardware installations and equipment deployment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second line IT support via the help desk.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Log, prioritise, and manage support tickets through to resolution.
• Install and configure PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Intune environments.
• Provide remote support to end users.
• Assist with desktop builds, imaging, and device deployments.
• Support basic networking, server administration, and security tasks where required.
• Maintain IT assets, documentation, and inventory records.
• Deliver excellent customer service while working to agreed service levels.
