Job summary

Slice Solutions LTD is hiring an IT Support Engineer to join a small team delivering first- and second-line IT support across Doncaster, Sheffield and nearby areas. The role focuses on MS365, Azure, Intune, and networking, with opportunities to grow technical and customer-service skills.

You will provide onsite and remote support, install hardware and software, and help maintain strong relationships with clients while learning new systems and processes within a friendly MSP environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in 1st/2nd line IT support.

• Valid driving licence with willingness to visit client sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support MS365 and networking solutions for client and internal projects.
• Onsite support and installation of hardware and software.
• Provide remote technical support via email and telephone to end users.
• Specify, configure, and implement equipment and software per client requirements.
• Produce standard configurations, documentation and procedures.
• Identify process improvements to streamline services and boost efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients receiving IT support from Slice Solutions.

Are you a solid IT support all-rounder and love rolling up your sleeves to provide mainly 1st and 2nd line IT support? Let s have a conversation about your next career move.

Our client is an established MSP providing in-house IT support and rapid response IT services to companies across Doncaster, Sheffield and sometimes Lincoln also.

The team is small at 7, so you'd be the 8th person to join the team no more just being another IT engineer in this team your ideas matter and your contribution is important.

You'll have this experience, skills, and personality to thrive in this new role as the team's newest IT Support Engineer:

• Microsoft365 Services
• Azure Services
• Intune for MDM (ideally albeit you'll also get plenty of hands-on training)
• Experience with networking technologies and concepts such as LAN/WAN, DHCP etc
• Experience of and enjoy providing customer service, building, and maintaining customer relationships.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels.
• An ability and desire to adapt and learn new software and programs.
• Good time-keeping and organisational skills.
• You love solving problems.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Driving licence in case you need to visit with clients across the area (usually up to about a one-hour radius of the S25 area of Sheffield).

About you as the new IT Support Engineer

You will be responsible for much of the following as well as lots of opportunities to learn and develop your knowledge and skills:

• Maintaining and Supporting MS365 and networking solutions for client and internal projects.
• Onsite support and installation of hardware and software.
• Provide remote technical support via email and telephone to end users so that operational problems and queries are diagnosed and resolved as quickly as possible.
• Specifying, recommending, providing, configuring, and implementing many varied items of equipment i.e., desktops, servers, printers etc. and supporting software in accordance with client requirements.
• Production of standard configurations, documentation, and procedures.
• Consider where the team can streamline processes and produce efficiencies within the company and in the services provided to clients.
• Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients where our client provides their IT support.
