MCS Group in Belfast is seeking an IT Support Engineer focused on managed services. You’ll move beyond a traditional helpdesk and gain exposure to a broad set of technologies, across remote support, projects, client visits, hardware deployment and infrastructure management.
You’ll work with a varied customer base, support onboarding and migrations, and learn from senior engineers as the business grows. A clean driving licence is required.
Sometimes the best time to join an IT business isn't when everything is already established - it's when things are moving quickly.
Following the acquisition of another successful small MSP, this growing managed services business has seen strong traction and is now looking to add an IT Support Engineer to the team.
This is a great opportunity for an IT professional with around 2-3 years' experience who wants to move beyond a traditional service desk role and get genuine exposure to a broad range of technologies, customers and project work.
The environment is cloud-first, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, Intune, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and Windows 11. The business is already operating a highly modernised client estate, with the vast majority of supported endpoints managed through Intune and an increasing number of customers moving towards completely serverless environments.
This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing every day.
You'll have the opportunity to move between remote support, project work, client visits, hardware deployment and infrastructure management, depending on what the week brings. You'll work with a varied customer base, get involved in new client onboarding and migrations, and have plenty of opportunity to learn from more experienced engineers.
Even at junior level, engineers get meaningful exposure to projects including:
Training and development are a genuine part of the role. You'll be given the opportunity to build your knowledge across the company's technology stack, with your responsibilities - and salary - increasing as your capabilities develop.
Your week will typically include a mixture of:
The customer base is spread across Northern Ireland, with most travel focused around Greater Belfast and County Antrim.
We're looking for someone who already has a solid grounding in IT support and is now ready to broaden their skillset.
You’ll ideally have:
You’ll also need a clean driving licence and access to your own transport, as regular customer visits are part of the role.
More important than ticking every technical box is having the right attitude.
We're looking for someone who is curious, adaptable and enthusiastic about technology. Someone who enjoys figuring things out, isn't afraid to ask questions and wants to become genuinely good at what they do.
You’ll need to be comfortable switching between priorities - perhaps troubleshooting a Microsoft 365 issue in the morning, building laptops in the workshop after lunch and then heading to a customer site to help with a rollout.
In return, you'll get a relaxed and supportive working environment, exposure to a wide range of technology, strong investment in training and the opportunity to progress as the business continues to grow.
