Job summary

Rocket Computer Services Ltd are recruiting an IT Apprentice to join the team and gain hands-on experience in IT support for clients in Portsmouth and Hampshire.

You will study towards a Level 3 ICT Support Technician apprenticeship over 22 months, including onsite mentoring and 25 days of off-the-job training at the PETA training centre in Cosham, with progression opportunities on completion.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Good communication skills.
• Personable, friendly and polite in nature.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of operating systems and Office applications.
• Genuine interest in ICT.
• Be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
• Driver's license required due to visiting client sites.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain computer hardware, laptops, audio/visual equipment and peripherals.
• Routine administration including data backups and Active Directory maintenance.
• Software installation, maintenance and upgrading in line with policy.
• Administration and development of Internet, Intranet, Extranet, and E-mail systems, including learning platforms and websites.
• Keep abreast of technological developments and encourage ICT use at all levels.
• Support staff and students with the setup and preparation of ICT equipment around clients.
