Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking a BD Manager for the IP Litigation practice within the Marketing team in London. You will translate strategy into practical BD plans, supporting pitches, campaigns and client development to drive growth across priority relationships.

Ideal candidates bring proven BD delivery in professional services, strong communication, and project management, with familiarity with Dynamics and CRM systems to keep data accurate and actionable. This role follows a hybrid work pattern.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral; able to persuade and influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven experience executing business development activities in professional services.
• Enthusiasm to understand IP litigation practice and related market dynamics.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder-facing capabilities.
• Comfortable using data and client management systems (e.g., Dynamics).

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day BD for the IP Litigation practice in London, converting strategy into actionable plans.
• Coordinate pitches, proposals and marketing collateral with central teams and lawyers.
• Manage client development, targeted campaigns and event support.
• Track spend, ROI and pipeline; provide status updates to partners.
• Utilize AI tools in line with firm policy to enhance marketing outcomes.
