DACHSER Ltd. invites applications for an International Freight Forwarding Apprenticeship at the Northampton Logistics Centre.

The role covers planning and coordinating international import/export shipments, preparing customs and transport documents, and learning all aspects of freight forwarding in a fast-paced, supportive team environment. The apprenticeship offers exposure to air, sea, and road freight services, with a focus on regulatory compliance and proactive customer communication.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in logistics, international trade, and supply chain operations.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence when dealing with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process shipping documentation accurately, including customs paperwork, transport documents, and delivery instructions.
• Assist with customs clearance activities, ensuring all consignments comply with UK and international regulations.
• Track shipments, monitor progress, and proactively communicate updates to customers, suppliers, and overseas partners.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, carriers, and DACHSER's global network.
• Resolve shipment queries and help find solutions to any transport or customs-related issues.
• Ensure data is accurately entered and maintained within internal systems.
• Learn all aspects of freight forwarding operations while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
