Reporting to the Group Accountant, you’ll oversee payroll for over 190 employees across salaried, hourly paid and shift-based workers, lead a small payroll team, ensure HMRC, pension and statutory compliance, and act as the payroll expert across the business.

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be working with a highly successful and growing Cornish business, to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager for a short-term assignment of approximately three months.
This role has become available to provide cover during an employee’s notice period and would suit an experienced payroll professional who can quickly take ownership of an established payroll function and provide continuity during a period of transition.
Reporting to the Group Accountant, you’ll oversee payroll for more than 200 employees across a mix of salaried, hourly-paid and shift-based workers, whilst providing leadership and support to a small payroll team.

We’re looking for an experienced payroll professional with strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation and a proven background managing complex payrolls. You’ll be highly organised, detail-focused and confident working with stakeholders across the business. Previous experience managing or supervising a payroll team is essential, whilst experience using Sage Payroll or PayCircle would be advantageous.
