Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting is recruiting an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join its outsourced payroll bureau based in Exmouth. The role is full-time and permanent, working alongside a small, long-standing team.

You will lead payroll staff, review work, and act as the point of contact for clients, handling queries and changes to payroll data, with weekly and monthly cycles.

Qualifications

• Two years of payroll experience or more.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team is preferred.
• Proficiency with HMRC reporting, RTI, holiday accrual, sickness and absence, NI.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review payroll work for multiple client payrolls (weekly and monthly).
• Coach and mentor junior staff within the department.
• Act as the main contact for clients and respond to payroll queries.

Trial Balance Consulting have been reengaged by a long standing client, a fast growing firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors that seek to recruit an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join their outsourced payroll bureau. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based at the company’s offices in Exmouth.

Working as part of a small but long standing team, the successful candidate will assume a lead positioning in reviewing the work of payroll staff and in many cases, liaising with clients on queries and changes to their payroll information. Key responsibilities to include:

• Working closely with the head of department, coaching and mentoring junior members of staff
• Operating in a supervisory capacity to ensure the efficient running of multiple client payrolls (weekly and monthly)
• Acting as a key point of contact to clients and responding to their queries
• Provide sound advice in all aspects of the payroll lifecycle to include HMRC reporting, RTI, holiday accrual, sickness and absence, NI etc.

For this role we seek an experienced Payroller, either operating at supervisory level or ready to step-up. The successful candidate may come from an in-house industry environment or be joining from another practice, but should possess at least two years of recently gained and broad payroll experience. The firm promotes both Sage Payroll and Xero Payroll so a working knowledge of one (or both!), would be highly advantageous. The role works as part of a friendly and long standing team that are well supported by the firm’s Partners and senior managers.
