Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be working with a highly successful and growing Cornish business to recruit an experienced Interim Payroll Manager for a short-term assignment of approximately three months with hybrid working.

Reporting to the Group Accountant, you’ll oversee payroll for over 190 employees across salaried, hourly paid and shift-based workers, lead a small payroll team, ensure HMRC, pension and statutory compliance, and act as the payroll expert across the business.

Qualifications

• Extensive UK payroll experience and knowledge of current legislation.
• Experience supervising a payroll team and coordinating with HR.
• Proven track record in delivering accurate payroll and year-end activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for 190+ employees.
• Ensure HMRC, pension and statutory compliance.
• Lead payroll reporting, reconciliations and year-end activities.
• Manage and support a Payroll Officer.
• Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Support payroll processes and resolve day-to-day issues.
• Act as the business’s payroll expert and primary contact.
