Job summary

SF Search Partners is seeking an Interim Head of Service Centre to lead and professionalise the field-based service operation for an established industrial business. You will build structure, align field teams with commercial goals and establish the service unit as a profitable, standalone entity.

You will own the P&L, drive recurring service contracts, and raise the function's profile across the organisation.

Job description

We are supporting an established industrial business in the appointment of an Interim Head of Service Centre to lead and develop its field-based service operation.

The business provides installation, maintenance and repair services to customers across its installed equipment base. This is a commercially focused operational leadership role, with a clear mandate to professionalise the Service function, improve its visibility across the wider organisation and establish it as a standalone, profitable business unit.

The Role

Leading a team of field-based Service Engineers, the Interim Head of Service Centre will:

• Introduce greater operational structure, processes and accountability across the Service function.
• Bring together the operational and commercial elements of Service, creating a more joined-up approach to customers and delivery.
• Take ownership of the Service P&L, improving commercial performance, visibility and decision-making.
• Raise the profile of Service internally and ensure it becomes a key strategic focus for the wider business.
• Develop a clear strategic roadmap for the function, moving towards longer-term, recurring service and maintenance contracts with customers.
• Drive performance across installation, planned maintenance, reactive repair and wider customer support.

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced service leader who can quickly assess the existing operation, establish structure and deliver tangible improvements.

You will ideally have:
