Job summary

SF Partners is seeking an Interim Head of Service in Yorkshire to lead and professionalise the field-based service operation. This role requires establishing structure, processes and accountability across the Service function to drive commercial performance.

You will bring together operational and commercial elements, owning the P&L and raising the internal profile of Service as a strategic priority while developing a roadmap for recurring service contracts.

• Background in manufacturing, machinery or industrial equipment.
• Strong operational leadership with a commercial and P&L mindset.
• Experience developing service propositions and increasing recurring or contracted revenues.

Interim Head of Service

We are supporting an established industrial business in the appointment of an Interim Head of Service Centre to lead and develop its field-based service operation.

The business provides installation, maintenance and repair services to customers across its installed equipment base. This is a commercially focused operational leadership role, with a clear mandate to professionalise the Service function, improve its visibility across the wider organisation and establish it as a standalone, profitable business unit.

The Role

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced service leader who can quickly assess the existing operation, establish structure and deliver tangible improvements.

You will ideally have:

• Experience leading field-based engineering/service teams.
• A background within manufacturing, machinery, industrial equipment or a related technical environment.
• Strong operational leadership combined with a clear commercial and P&L mindset.
• Experience developing service propositions and increasing recurring or contracted revenues.
• The ability to operate effectively in an interim environment and make an immediate impact.
