Interim Change & Project Accountant - Somerset

Our client are seeking a hands‑on, commercially minded Project Accountant to support a series of change initiatives across their business.

Working closely with the business, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping financial processes and controls that are efficient, scalable, and aligned with strategic growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated interim finance professional to make a real impact—helping strengthen their financial practices, improve decision‑making, and support innovation across this diverse organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the review, design, and rollout of enhanced financial processes and internal controls
  • Analyse and map existing workflows to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and opportunities for automation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure improvements meet operational needs.
  • Provide financial insight to support commercial decisions—ensuring accurate margin reporting, revenue recognition, and cost allocation.
  • Contribute to system/reporting changes including UAT, testing, and training.
  • Help embed robust control frameworks aligned with compliance and audit requirements.
  • Prepare clear project documentation, updates, and stakeholder communications.
Experience and qualities required
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA (qualified or part‑qualified).
  • Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools.
  • Proven track record in financial transformation, project accounting, or process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, commercial finance, and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across varied teams.
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, and practical problem solver.
