Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Interconnects Design Engineer in Stevenage to design cable assemblies for power, signal and data transfer across subsystems. The role involves interpreting subsystem requirements, producing electrical schematics and cable definitions, and supporting manufacturing with build issues.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, lead packaging challenges, and contribute to technically advanced projects while adhering to design processes and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in cable/harness/interconnects design.
• Minimum 2 years using Visio and HarnWare.
• Define/deploy/refine processes and standards in Visio/HarnWare (electrical topology, wiring schematics, 2D drawings).
• Thorough understanding of product data management and change management (Windchill or similar).
• Lead interconnects/harness design work packages in MDT teams.

Responsibilities

• Interpret subsystem requirements and generate electrical schematics and cable definitions (Visio & HarnWare).
• Investigate cable problems and develop solutions (solo or in project team).
• Support manufacturing to resolve build issues.
• Support functional and environmental product trials.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver advanced projects/products.
