Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Integrated Discharge Team. You will assess functional needs, plan discharge pathways, and coordinate support that promotes independence and dignity.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, physiotherapists, social workers and community partners, supervising junior staff and contributing to service development. Interview early November 2026.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in OT and HCPC registration required.
• Postgraduate diploma or training relevant to physical conditions preferred.
• Significant CPD and post-registration experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate safe, timely discharges via appropriate pathways.
• Manage caseload with diverse disabilities including physical, learning, and mental health needs.
• Educate and train the team on OT role; supervise and review junior staff.
• Participate in discharge team planning, development, and evaluation.
• Lead information management to ensure high-quality data is recorded and reported.
