Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist at band 5/6 to join a dynamic therapy team at Heartlands Hospital. You will work within the multidisciplinary team supporting patients to return home as soon as possible, providing assessments, treatment and discharge planning across acute wards.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Registered with HCPC.
• Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to clinical speciality.
• Evidence of leadership training.
• Good standard of general education including GCSE English and maths grade C or above.
• A Levels or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised therapeutic assessments, management and treatment of patients.
• Focus on facilitating discharges home, or to other care pathways and ensure ongoing needs are met by the most appropriate services.
• Engage in supervision, education and coordination of more junior qualified staff, generic support workers and students.
• Contribute to service development and data collection within the immediate team.
