Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced SENDCo to lead and support SEND provision at Beaconsfield, two days per week. You will shape inclusive practice, coordinate EHCPs, and work with families and external agencies to ensure every child can succeed.

The role requires QTS and primary teaching experience, with strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and a commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing. A SENDCo qualification is desirable but not essential for strong candidates.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status and have primary teaching experience.
• Experience as SENDCo and knowledge of SEND Code of Practice (2015) and Equality Act.
• Experience working with families, external agencies and governors.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with a calm, solution-focused approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil and staff wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day SEND provision across the school.
• Support teachers to identify needs and implement strategies using graduated approach.
• Develop, monitor and evaluate interventions for impact.
• Collaborate with external professionals and agencies.
• Lead EHCP applications, annual reviews and consultations.
• Ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act.
• Maintain SEND policies and records and work with senior leaders to improve provision.
