Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a motivated Science Teacher for a secondary school in Crawley, West Sussex. The role covers KS3 and KS4, delivering Biology, Chemistry and Physics and guiding students through practical investigations.

You will plan engaging lessons, assess progress, differentiate for abilities and ensure safety in a well-equipped lab. QTS or equivalent is required, with solid subject knowledge and commitment to student achievement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4.
• Confidence delivering practical lessons safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics in line with the curriculum and examination specifications.
• Organise practical experiments to develop investigative and analytical skills.
• Explain scientific concepts clearly and encourage questions.
• Prepare students for assessments and GCSE examinations.
• Differentiate lessons to support varying abilities and learning needs.
• Assess work regularly and provide constructive feedback to improve progress.
• Maintain a safe, organised classroom and laboratory environment.
• Follow health and safety procedures during practical activities.
• Collaborate with Science colleagues to develop resources and share best practices.
