Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Science Teacher for a secondary school in Woking, Surrey. The role is full-time and permanent with an immediate start, and the salary is on the MPS1–UPS3 pay scale. You will deliver Science across KS3 and KS4, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and contribute to a well-structured curriculum.

You will plan engaging lessons, manage practical activities safely, assess progress and support students of varying abilities within a supportive department.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or be eligible for Early Career Teacher status.
• Degree or strong subject knowledge in a scientific discipline.
• Confident teaching Science at secondary level, particularly KS3 and KS4.
• Effective classroom management and planning skills.
• Ability to assess learning and use feedback to improve outcomes.
• Experience delivering or supervising practical science activities safely.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics per curriculum.
• Plan lessons balancing theory and practical work.
• Develop students' scientific vocabulary and numeracy.
• Prepare students for GCSE Science assessments.
• Maintain safe and purposeful lab environments.
• Collaborate with colleagues to review schemes of work.
• Contribute to departmental meetings and school activities.
