Job summary

E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy is seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor to lead classes during teacher absence, ensuring a positive learning environment and supporting student progress.

The role requires strong classroom management, excellent communication, and the ability to motivate and engage students to achieve their best. Salary reflects SCP 12-17, with a full-time 37-hour week and 39 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Experience working with children or young people in a school environment.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain positive behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate, engage, and support students to achieve their best.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term absence of teachers, keeping students engaged.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a constructive learning environment per academy policies.
• Support students’ learning, encourage participation, independence and inclusion for all learners.
• Monitor student progress and give feedback to staff on achievement, behaviour and lesson outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with students and foster a culture of high expectations.
