Job summary

E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to provide high-quality supervision during teacher absence, ensuring continuity of learning and a positive learning environment. The role is maternity‑cover within a values-driven trust that prioritises safeguarding and student wellbeing.

The successful candidate will promote high expectations, build strong relationships with students and staff, and support learning across a range of subjects.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) and a Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience of supervising children in a school environment and supporting a range of learning needs.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Confidence using ICT and a good understanding of how children learn and develop

Responsibilities

• Supervise lessons during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged with set work.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
• Support students’ learning, encouraging participation, independence and inclusion.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff on learning and behaviour.
• Assist with student supervision and contribute to the wider life of the academy
