Job summary

Mitchells & Butlers PLC in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Night Porter to welcome guests and maintain a safe, comfortable environment during the overnight shift (typically 11pm to 7am).

You will check in late arrivals and walk-ins, provide a warm welcome, handle front-of-house tasks, assist with breakfast setup where required, and respond to guest enquiries while upholding high service standards. Successful applicants will undergo DBS checks as part of the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

• In the event of a fire, evacuate guests and staff safely and quickly.
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints.

This is an overnight position, with shifts typically ranging from 11pm to 7am (depending on the site).

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

What You'll Do In This Role

• Be the first point of contact when checking in late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Ensure a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to all guests.
• The role is varied and, depending on your site, may include: cleaning tasks within the front of house, external and breakfast areas, setting up the meeting room(s) and breakfast for the next day
• You'll ensure guest and business safety and security is top priority at all times.
• In the event of a fire, evacuating all guests and team from the business safely and quickly
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints to ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
