Job summary

M&B is seeking a Night Porter to cover overnight shifts in the East Midlands. You will welcome guests arriving late, support front-of-house duties, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. The role includes possible breakfast setup and routine checks to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate is independent, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent guest service, even during night hours.

Responsibilities

• Be the first contact for late check-ins and walk-ins.
• Provide a warm, friendly welcome to guests.
• Handle front-of-house tasks such as cleaning and breakfast setup as needed.
• Ensure guest safety and security at all times.
• Evacuate guests safely in case of fire, following procedures.
• Answer phone inquiries and resolve guest complaints.

Job description

This is an overnight position, with shifts typically ranging from 11pm to 7am (depending on the site).

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE

• Be the first point of contact when checking in late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Ensure a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to all guests.
• The role is varied and, depending on your site, may include: cleaning tasks within the front of house, external and breakfast areas, setting up the meeting room(s) and breakfast for the next day
• You'll ensure guest and business safety and security is top priority at all times.
• In the event of a fire, evacuating all guests and team from the business safely and quickly
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints to ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
